Thanks Rick, hope you're enjoying a bit of California sunshine.

I am back in the NC. Mountains as of Yesterday evening! California was Nice but way too Hot for Me. Averaged 96 degrees F. over the 4 days  :o

That's scorching! Thankfully we don't get those temperatures very often in London. But we are due a heatwave in the next few days, we won't see 96 degrees though.

When I pulled into My Driveway at home it was a Pleasant 74 degrees  ;D

So nearly done, I have only 2 more lower wing control wires to add.  :)

The forward control wires will need painting, if it goes like the tail end wire painting went there will be a few touch ups required and I have just enough of my home brewed PC10 mix left for it. I may get the chance to finish it this evening but Mrs W is wanting me to light the BBQ and pour some wine so perhaps it had better wait until tomorrow.

Will post in completed models in the next day or so. This has been the most rewarding model I have ever made, including the 1/72 Spitfire in a polythene bag my Dad bought me 50 years ago.

Thanks so much for all the advice and encouragement along the way, you guys are all awesome!

Richie

I really like this bird! Richie, you made a good job and it looks very common to the museums machine.

Cheers,
Frank

An excellent result Richie - you may have learned a lot on the way but you have also proved that you are a very good student! Looking forward to seeing pictures of the completed model.

Stephen.

Thanks Frank, Rick and Stephen, I couldn't resist popping back to the bench to finish it.

Rick, without your constant support I don't think I would have finished this one.

Frank, your awesome work is a constant source of inspiration. I can see I will have to buy a soldering iron now.  With lockdown finally easing here I may be able to visit the museum again soon. I might even get to see the real Dixie II in the air. :)

Stephen, I really hope to be a good pupil of the mysterious art of scratch building soon. You may have to be a very patient teacher!

Bravo!  It's always great when you know you're almost done.

Thanks Gazza, Terri, Fredrik and Bob, it feels great to have actually got one across the line at last!

I have now added it the completed models section, time for a little celebratory cold beer. ;D

Thanks Ken, I may to have to pick your brains about scratch building soon if that's ok.
