As an Australian friend from the WWI Modeling List is wont to say, "It's all about the process". It isn't whether or not you can see some little thing in all it's ever so slightly off scale glory. It's all about did you enjoy making it. If so, who cares if you can see it well. We display our models on a world wide forum, but it is just us, alone at our bench, (along with the odd cat or dog), who build them. It is an intensely personal thing and doing it in a satisfying manner is all that counts. So if making something you won't much see takes all evening, the only question is, "Did you enjoy your evening?" Same principle applies for leaving something rarely seen completely out. Does cutting that corner make for a more enjoyable build for you? Two different processes for 2 different modelers equals two well enjoyed builds. And that is all that matters.
BTW, you are doing great with that cutter, I admire your patience with the software. You are going to get a lot of use out of that.
