Oh yes, the photo you posted is the only one I found in internet with proofs about presene on roundels.
In the dedicated Windsock Datafile 128, there are 6 photos more. Four with and two without roundels.
So, I think you choose right, also because serial of that SP.2 is close to yours.

I'm reviewing a version for the 1/33 scale, but this time of the SP.2 with fiat cannon.
