   I don't know how I missed this til now; my compliments on a truly impressive "stable", very nice work. Also reviewed the tutorial (Des's?) on turnbuckles, think I'll modify my approach slightly as well.

Incorporating turnbuckles without tails works very well for me, and I like the look of the finished product. Eliminating the need to position the turnbuckle together with dispensing with the extra piece of connector tubing makes things move along just that much quicker too.
