Yes, the conundrums of modelling  ???  I’ll probably just add a splash of clear orange/ yellow to the gloss layer and fudge it as I normally do!

Both big birds will look nice, I'm sure!
I often also use both clear yellow and orange. Orange alone may get to dark, and yellow to pale.

Looking forward to following your build, Guy. I remember your Bristol F2b and how well that looked when done - I'm sure we're all in for a visual treat with this one. I agree with Bud - the aluminium scheme is nice. From what people say this DH.9a is a great kit, so I'll be taking notes on yours as I plan my build in the future (WW1 version).

Hi Guy, You're off to a great start.  The cockpit looks superb.  I'm about to start one of these myself, also with Pheon decals, and have chosen the blue "JAN" scheme.
I really like the aluminum doped one you've chosen as well so I know it will be a real beauty when completed.

So, now the Hellcat is all done and dusted, I can turn my attention back to the rather lovely DH9.a  ;)

I’d ordered a set of HGW belts last week thinking I’d have them in a day or two (via eBay) but hadn’t realised I’d got them direct from HGW in the Czech Republic. So, basically, they aren’t here yet...  :(

So I’ve pressed on with the engine over the last couple of days. I was, initially, not going to bother doing anything with it as I’d planned it to be under the ‘hood’ but the Liberty is so nice, I couldn’t resist making, at least, a minor effort to spruce it up!

As always, it looks a bit of a state under the glare of macro photography  :P  but looks rather nice to the (my) naked eye!
