Here we have the metal parts painted with Vallejo Model Air applied via brush. The pre-thinned model air flows very nicely off the brush.
It's not as smooth as I would like and I might go back and try a different technique for metal parts that I will describe. I have placed the stripping agents on high alert while I ponder the look of the part.

Regular visitors to my build threads will note I won't hesitate to strip a part if I feel things are going south.  :-\

Well I wasn't too happy where the IP was going so I restarted, I'm glad I did so. I repainted the panel except this time laid down a pre shade of Tamiya Rubber then the top coat. I normally pre shade all of my interior parts on a non WWI subject as the shading helps the wash blend a bit better, in the pic below you can see by spraying directly at the part broad side you can retain some of the pre shade around the edges of the details on the piece. The rest of the sequence is the same as described above with the exception of the aluminum bezel, this time I dry brushed the detail with MM Aluminum Metalizer. The brass bell was done with Vallejo Model Air Aluminum brush painted with a watery Vallejo Brass applied over it. Crank is also dry brushed.

And here is the finished, cleared part ready for decals.

Thanks folks, I'm glad I took the time to redo the panel.

All that is left is the seat and some misc. X rigging and I can call the cockpit module complete.

Really nice work Ryan, I particularly like the clean job you've done on the Flight Control rigging. She's going to be an absolute stunner!
Cheers,
