They both look awesome, Rick! I especially love the wood on the Albatros.

Thanks Drew. Greatly appreciated!

I have progressed to applying markings and painting the wings. The Pfalz Silbergrau is XTra color Weiss Aluminum and Steingrau over pre shading of black. The Pheon oversized crosses have been applied. The Albatros has the markings applied to the fuselage and the basic camo colors applied to the tail. I have also used Aviattic blue linen decals for the underside color. I decided to go against the grain with the checker board marking on the left side and mirrored it vs the instructions. Not sure now how I feel about it  :-\

one more showing the re-scribed nose panels for a more accurate early DV:

PS: Just to be clear the Pheon crosses on the Pfalz are "Oversized" in outline to match the original. They are correct!

Yes, nice work, Rick.  The markings really liven them up.

Both builds are looking wonderful so far and I do look forward to your up-dates on the progress .

Your Pfalz is very sweet indeed , but I don't know if it's me but it looks like to much black is showing though the silver/grey on the underside of the wings .

Thanks T! I will take another look at the underside of the wings. Usually I cover too much so this time I may have not covered enough  8)

Both models look first class to me Rick. The wood finish on the Albatros still grabs my attention every time I look at it.

Amazing, Rick, great to see an early Albatros with a headrest. But the Pfalz is great was well...
Best regards

Beautiful and inspirational work, especially the wood grain. I'll try your technique when I get up the nerve to build my WNW Albatross kit.

Thank you Albert, I greatly appreciate the comments! I am sure that you will do well on the Albatros once you get going. There are a few tricky spots mostly dealing with careful assembly of the struts and putting on the upper wing. Have Fun!

So making progress. The Pfalz is on it's gear and the wings have received a bit more Silbergrau  8). The albatross wings have been painted lilac and green on the uppers and Aviattic blue linen on the unders. Spandaus installed on both.
