*** COMPLETED *** Halberstadt Cl. II, Schlasta 26b, WNW 1/32
« on: February 28, 2019, 05:16:29 AM »
March is approaching quickly and although Dave already put me on the list of participants some weeks ago, I didn’t show up with my project here. I am still busy with my CSM Nieuport 17, but when that one is finished, I‘ll start with this one here:

A pic of the unstarted kit and all the aftermarket bits fill follow (I am waiting for the cockie decals from Aviattic).
Best regards
Andreas

Awesome interior work Andreas! I love the worn floor board in the observers cockpit!

Oh yes, this cockpit is looking great!
I'm surprised, how many parts you already used! You handled already more then me in a complete aircraft in 1/48 scale :o

This will be a great build, I'm sure!

Cheers,
Frank

Thank you Rick and Frank,

I built up the interior and had great fun doing this. Only the forward firing Machine Gun is still missing then the fuselage halves will be closed. I had an orgy of decadence using HGW seatbelts and all the great little Taurus resin parts for the Mercedes D. IIIa that I could get    :)

Best regards

Your interior and engine contain 100% of the detail and beautiful painting we have come to expect from one of your builds!

Thank you very much Rick, Terri, Juan and Manni!

Puh, it‘s done. The Halberstadt mottled camouflage is sprayed on and looks ok for me - and that after the first try. I followed the hints on the WNW homepage and am happy that I used my airbrush and not a sponge like I had origginally planned to do. It is far less difficult than expected. I also blended the flame decals into the fuselage red, another area where I had feared, problems could arise. Of course, many touch ups and details are still to be done on the fuselage. But at first I am going to do the wings...

Best regards
Andreas
