COMPLETED: WNW DFW C.V MID Grenade
« on: February 12, 2019, 06:59:06 AM »
Hi everyone,
I would like to join the company commemorating Des.
For my modest share I chose the DFW C.V from the middle production phase - in the Bavarian FA48b livery, but in the winter version - with the engine fully covered.
It seems to me that until August there is a lot of time - and I only hope that I will make it on time ...

Great choice. If you should be interested in another color interpretation of this very machine, just let me know.
Best regards
Andreas

Gentlemen, thank you very much for kind words,

Andreas - I like the color scheme proposed by WnW for this machine. However, it is always good to have a plan B. This can be even more interesting. I am very curious how this second option looks like ...

Excellent - another DFW C5! I like the grenade scheme and it'll be great to share notes as our makings of the same kit unfold.

Cheers
Alistair

Gentlemen,

I can see next fellows are visiting my thread - thank you Giuseppe and Marc.
Allistair - I'm looking forward to see progress with your C.V.

Okay then, it's time to start. For the beginning - pure classic - I've start from the crew compartment. First steps and immediately wood and plywood.
This is not yet the final form - here and there will be needed some touch up - but the general direction looks rather acceptable - in my point of view. Then will be time for decals and other outfitting within cabin... but not much carpentry works.
Obviously, all honest opinions are welcome.

Hi,
after weekend the interior of the crew compartment is almost ready to be closed. In the meantime, the engine began to resemble the final form, although it is still far to the end. Engine covers has already received its layer of dark green and traces of chipping - for now a little too strong - I will have to work on it. Additionally, late last week, some extras arrived - turnbuckles and a barrel for the Parabellum.

fuselage halves are dry fitted so far, same as cabane strut, landing gear and radiators
