Hello dear friends,
it's been a long time since I've done anything here. I would like to apologize for that. Especially because I didn't continue with Des Memorial Build. Unfortunately I didn't have the strength to build much further, because everything became a bit too much. I was feeling pretty bad and needed to recover. I finally got my diagnosis after a long time. I suffer from a bipolar disorder as well as a modified form of Asperger's autism. I had to deal with that first with myself and my family. Now, thanks to the diagnosis and my great therapist, I have acquired many behaviors (skills) that help me in everyday life and I can get through life very well again.
But now to the important stuff:
The Sopwith Camel has been finished in the meantime. The construction was anything but stress-free. I once crushed the whole interior between clamps, broke all the struts, dropped the model, broke the landing gear, crumbled the decals and cracked the glue seam on the fuselage again, so I had to spackle and repaint the fuselage.
But I told myself, you have to do that for Des.
The kids room has a timeless design and most of the pieces are scratchbuilt. There are sprues on the table with instructions and much more. On the pinboard I put a photo of Des. All planes are 3d printed and have the original schemes.
I think He might like it as it is.I intentionally weathered the model very subtly since Des liked it this way.
Here are some pictures:

Cheers my dear friend, Des!!!

I hope you like it,
see you soon,
Manni
