This Fokker looks great, as your others. I really like the color tones!
Respecting the fact, that you don't have to put too much time into rigging, this aircraft seems to be ready soon.

Cheers,

A small update. The MGs are installed and the landing gear painted and attached. Next up the fin and rudder then SLIGHT weathering.

Thanks Juan. As always I am pleased that you follow along on my builds! One other thing I forgot was to thank Rob Owens for sending the PE Jackets, ( actually the whole DVII PE fret), at no cost. His only request was that I pay it forward, something I do whenever I can help out another modeler with something I have!

This may be your best D.VII yet?
The machine guns look great in the pictures and the red color looks toned down as to be realistic.

Time for opinions!!!! As is obvious I have chosen OAW as the builder of My Du Doch Nicht. Moving on to the fin and rudder I asked Myself this question, If Ernst had just had the ENTIRE fuselage and empennage painted red why not the fin to match? Most, if not all Artists and Modelers go with a white fin and rudder per OAW practice. In addition some OAW DVII's had CDL fins and rudders. The question is am I pushing too far by painting the fin red and rudder CDL or white? The photo shows CDL rudder and red fin. Let Me know your thoughts...please!

I think this is simply guess, because he hides the middle of the plane on the photo.
On page 17 in Anthology 2 is a (grey) drawing, and here rudder and fin seems to have the same color as the stripe (you showed it on page 2 of this thread).
But nobody can prove it or the opposite, so feel free to paint a nice Fokker.

This is the nice thing about WWI models: there is some freedom, so not all models looks the same and all builders are right  8)

A quick search for "Du doch nicht" found pictures with a half red stabilizer:

And a museum:

My 2 cents.

Cheers,
Frank

Agree with Frank, the final decision is yours Rick (and I would do whatever I liked best).  Your option could have been done at the unit level and not the factory, so its anyone's guess.  Your current choice looks great and no one could definitely prove you wrong, so my 2 cents is......  your choice will be correct.   :o

Todays progress. The upper wing is mounted and glued in place. Just need to do some touch up on the struts. I will continue to add some weathering but feel like this one is finally in the Home Stretch! The fin and rudder are just resting in place as I am still considering the colors!

Beautiful and very neat build Rick! I love the "metal" shine of the engine panels
