Des passing one year ago was a sore blow to us all, also to me personally as I valued His personality, kindness, generosity and contribution to WW1 modelling very much. I still look around, watch old threads with his participation and cannot believe He is no longer here with us. And that it is already one year gone since He passed. That is why I welcome this superb idea to commemorate Des by means of this GB.

When the famed warehouse damage discount was announced by WNW some time ago I took my chance and bought two kits. Rumpler is long completed but AEG I bought as well was not so appealing to me at the beginning. But now, when this GB was announced I thought, that it would be right time to take my chance with that kit.

And here it is, my entry to the Des Memory GB - WNW AEG G.IV Late which I plan to build as the White 2 from Bogohl 8b, the aircraft photographed after it suffered slight damage during Allied air raid.
It will be built with half-exposed engines, for which I bought Taurus Models detailing sets. Otherwise, besides obligatory rigging with Gaspatch turnbuckles and maybe some tiny scratch details in the cockpit, the bits from the huge box filled to the rim will have to suffice.

So let it begin. To You, Des. I will do my best to build it to a standard fine enough to be a worthy tribute to your memory... :'(

Great choice!  I'm contemplating doing my AEG for the Group Build as well.  No firm decision quite yet though.

Hi Prze
It's great that you are here in this build. Your model making skills are those that I aspire to. The AEG is the one twin engine plane that I might do one day. I really look forward to seeing your progress.

Cheers

Terrific choice Prze, and a Kit very worthy of your talents. It's a long and at times challenging Build but one I enjoyed. I'm looking forward to following along on your project very much!
Cheers,
Lance

Thank you, all for your welcome and your faith in my skills. Well, I will try to give the kit its justice.

The work has begun. Interior bits and main airframe components cut from sprues, partly cleaned, test-fit, central sections put together, and awaiting seam cleaning, degreasing and airbrushing. Actually I have already tested my choice for interior grey-green (Vallejo Pastel Green) on the fuselage interior, barely seen in one of the photos.

A great start, Przemo. I am glad that you started this project, I hope that I will have the best possible guide when it's time for my AEG. Of course I will be follow the progress even though I'm pretty sure about the fantastic end result.
