Good luck to you guys. Build and be happy 😆 Keep calm and kit bash on! Or just open the box and be amazed...these are strange days, the hobby can see us through!

Well, this is off the wall... but the thread is; WNW sales, note the date and No invoice no: this must be one of their first sales! And zero postage! That alone would be a fortune... still have both kits..

I still can't believe the reaction I had on first opening the boxes, the entire package was just so amazing....

Marc

Yeah I agree - I think I went into some serious credit card debt but that first package with one each of the first released kits (wasn't it SE5, Junkers J.I Bristol Fighter & LVG?) was truly something. Just seemed like out of nowhere we had 1/32 WW1 kits that rivaled or bettered the best kits ever done and of such unexpected types - Junkers J.I???? LVG?? Again makes me sad that they are done though....

A possible stirring in the Wingnuts warehouse in NZ?

A model shop retailer in Australia says he's been contacted by Wingnuts seeking contact details. He thinks this may be connected to moves to sell off the NZ warehouse stock.

Nothing official from Wingnut Group of course. They still pretend the place is closed and web sales suspended due to Covid, a cover story that is now transparently fake.

However it's also worth issuing a caution to members contemplating buying Wingnut kits from the recently advertised Weta stocks. Weta's website info seems woefully lagging and people who think they have bought a kit and paid with a credit card, then get a message the kit is out of stock and the sale is a pre order! Ask me how I know.

I bought a DH9 supposedly in stock only to discover after the deal it's a pre order thing.

I complained to Weta who have replied: "It is on pre-order but should be available soon to ship from our NZ warehouse"

Does this suggest Weta will be handling sales from the WNW warehouse?

Thanks Dave,

My order, or erm, pre-order stated this from the WETA shop:

UPS GROUND from US

Est. delivery: Aug 25, 2020

I would not be surprised if Weta were involved in the whole handling of WNW in the end, the company was closed and seemingly absorbed into WETA's hands? Are they shipping these out to WETA warehouses around the world, but to end users only or to shops too? What's happened to the rest of the WNW stock? There is quite a discrepancy on what they listed on the Weta shop and what is still listed on the WNW website. Are they testing how well Weta can handle this? Am I overthinking things? :).

Have they, WNW, deviated from what they said they were going to do originally (unofficially of course)?

I ordered from WETA last week (a Sopwith Camel listed as "shipping from Europe warehouse"): the reply e-mail says estimated delivery Aug,17 so next week I can let you know.
At time of my order, only Le Rhone Camel were reported available from Eu. and most of the kitsets were sold out. I hope the leftovers will show off and will grab one or two more of those missing.
Ciao

I managed to get a few kits which said were pre order but then they changed me but could not combine postage. The rest are pre order. I’ve found pre order a mixed bag usually shows up but sometimes not. I asked them at Weta and was told last of WNW stocks. But the person I spoke to might not be privy to info further up the line.

I imagine if more people pre order than stock available they can get from WN warehouse- or maybe it doesn’t work like this?
Cheers. Interesting news Dave. OS prices are very high.

Wow Zero post and our exchange rate almost 1:1. Happy days! Unfortunately I started my obsession in late 2016 so completely missed both! Arrgh
