What an unjust and unworthy fate for a man with his status and courage.
Thank you for telling us this personal account Lukasz. It gives so much more depth and context to the beautiful model.
How dit you achieve the streaking engine oil smear on the nose and fuselage. Dit you you use a fan?
Kind regards,
Willem
Thank you very much. You don't even know how honored I feel that you read the story of this man, that we are writing about him, 100 years after his great deeds and 80 years after his terrible death. Thank you for that.
As for the streaks, while learning the techniques, I saw in many films a method with an airbrush, where the streaks are blown by the rush of air. This method, although it gives quite natural results, unfortunately has a few of you. At least in my opinion. First of all, it does not give you control over the streak behavior, secondly, it requires a lot of paint and thus these streaks are too large in my opinion. That's why I use long hair brushes. Probably the most important piece of advice I can give is to never, ever use just one color. Juggling colors gives much better effects, it creates an extremely plastic mosaic. That's why I choose 3-4 colors and build streaks in this way. I always start with the lighter ones. Leaks are always bright at the periphery and darkest where something has been deposited recently, so by layering colors on top of each other, I build a color sandwich. I hope I managed to explain it in an understandable way.

Lukasz
