Every time I visit this build my jaw drops lower with amazement. Astonishing work

It is amazing that a kit that small can look so good.  Love the propeller.

Ondra, that prop hub is about as impressive as it gets; I lose parts on my bench ten times that size! And then you are able to drill out the lightening holes......!! :o :o Fascinating work on your part!

Many thanks for following the build and your support, Toby, Juan, Lance, Rick and Steve!

Last two days I was playing around with the "dummy" interplane struts, to get their length right. At the end of the day I decided to use tack-it, as it is strong enough to keep the struts in place and allows for angle adjustments at the same time. I had to shorten the struts by about 1 mm and it seems to be about correct now. More progress next weekend.

And I started to work on the exhausts.

Cheers

Many thanks to all of you for following the build and for your nice comments! It means a lot to me.

Due to lack of time for the workbench in the recent weeks, there was not much to show. I am still trying to find the correct method to align the cabane struts. Now it looks like I am on the right path. :)

Cheers

Many thanks for your encouraging words, UFAG and Rick! They are highly appreciated.

The X-Mas madness is hopefully coming to an end finally, so I hope to have more time for the workbench in the next days. So far, only little progress - I aligned the upper wing using the jig I made, looks quite satisfactory.

That allowed me to measure the correct length of interplane struts. Afterwards I started making the struts using brass rods with plastic stripes glued on with CA. Afterwards I will sand them to shape. Hopefully this will give the model a sufficient rigidity.

Cheers

Many thanks for looking in and leaving such nice comments, Justin, Rick and Warren!

Found some time for the workbench this afternoon and moved on with the struts.

First I sanded them to shape:

Then I gave them a coat of white and afterwards Drooling Bulldog Cadmium yellow (the first time I have used this paint, wanted to give it a try)

And this is what they look like with wood grain on (mix of raw and burnt umber)

Cheers

Ondra
