Greetings/back to the beginning

Greetings,
I've been fascinated by WWI aviation since I learned about Snoopy's duel with the Red Baron (and subsequently inherited my father's penchant for history). I've been a modeler since Aurora's last gasp in the '70s, and was active on the WWI Modeling "news group" in the late '90s. Some of my interests are German and French camo/colors and G- and R-types (particularly the obscure ones), even to the extent of writing a brief online article or two (
http://worldatwar.net/chandelle/v2/v2n1/rumpler_g.html
). I'm currently going through a Schlachtflieger phase from reading the superb book by Duiven & Abbott (the latter has some interesting interpretations of the irregular use of lozenge fabric). My modeling is primarily a surrogate for time travel - more an exploration of history than a pursuit of fine detail, absolute accuracy (although I am particular about lozenge decal colors), or competitive accolades...
Cheers,
Janus
