Really outstanding work. The Interieur looks great. I'm allways impressed how high the skill level in this forum is.

Thanks all
Have progressed lately and now pretty much ready for final assembly of the Hannover. Although it doesn't show up very well in the photos I achieved the mottled finish I was looking for with a spounge technique. Spray on base blue, spounge on darker blue then lightly re-spray with a slightly lighter blue than the base blue. Much more visible in reality...There is more weathering than I am used to doing but I'm pretty pleased with the results - could even go further??? Maybe next time...

Installing the machine gun was the trickiest bit so far with 5 support legs to be plugged into their various holes - worked out though after multiple dry fits. Still have to add the sight.

I am installing all the cowls which means I have to butcher the port side of the engine to get that cowl to fit. Nevermind.

Cheers
Alistair

Alistair,
You've nailed that mottled finish beautifully and your highlighting/shading and the subtle weathered effect is superb. Nicely done, she's going to be a real stunner!
Cheers,
Lance

Very nice progress on the Hannover. The light blue brings out its outline quite clear, so this is an interesting scheme here.

Lovely interiors, with a real look. And beautiful finishing of the exterior painting.

Thanks all
Your positive feedback is much appreciated. It is an incredibly well engineered kit with many very fine parts. But only one tiny breakage to date and it won't be seen as it is under the cowls so I won't even bother to fix.

Planning to finish soon but the garden also beckons - well actually screams out for attention!

Well it is all ready for final assembly - maybe next weekend - work is very busy...

The engine cowls proved to be a five part challenge but, in testimony to the engineering of the kit, they all fit tighly together in the end. I really like the sweep and wash of the upper wing so I have positioned the aerilions in a neutral position which best shows it off.

I am using a very simple jig as can be seen here  ;)

Excepting for the propeller and rigging batons this is all done now. I very much like the sweep of the wings on this plane and the way the leading edge of the upper wing is so far forward of the lower wing. It looks like it wants to fly! I may post in the completed section when I get the propeller done and the next model for me? I don't know...but a WW1 plane for sure!

Exceptional work.
I'll be stealing the sponge technique.
