Meine Herren !

Here some exhibits of the Bavarian Army Museum / Ingolstadt .

The big one is the ultra rare 2cm aerial automatic gun used on the two-mot. bombers like AEG C. IV (Windsock Datfile 51)
It is the so-called Becker* gun; it is the Type 2; the magazine comprises 15 rounds; it was mainly introduced May 1918 but not largely used.
*Engineer Becker

The others are 2x  Mg 1913 7,9mm Parabellum Mg 08/15 and a Vickers (see Dübendorf pics.).

The rudder is from a British plane and the colours are already very dark, white is brownish-looking; it is not known, from which type.

viele Grüße, Gunther

  Gunther,
Sorry too be so late in commenting my friend. Thanks very much for sharing these wonderful photos and to Des for posting them here. That's some of the best photos I seen of the Becker to date. I'm somewhat surprised though as at least externally it appears to be something  one could build in their garage or home workshop. Beautiful simplicity in design. I also wonder why the Becker didn't use a drum type magazine as was used on later WW II 2cm Cannons.

Hi Gregory !

Thanks for enjoying the Becker gun pics, I hope they are nice since it was a rather low light situation and glass in front of the guns.
I reworked the frams a little bit on Lightroom to enhance detail.

viele Grüß, Gunther

  Gunther,
Would you happen to know the measurements of the Becker Gun?

Per, 'Flying Guns World War I' by Williams and Gustin, the overall length of the gun was 137cm, the barrel was 80cm and the gun weighed 60kg.

  Bob,
Many thanks my old friend. I've had the idea to scratch one for a project sometime in the future and these measurements with be very helpful.

I think there are scale drawings of the Becker in the above mentioned book as well (Flying Guns)

You are correct. There are scale drawings in the book of the Becker cannon and many other guns used on WWI aircraft to the odd scale of 2 & 3/32 inches equals 1 metre.
