Clerget 9B (1/32, Taurus Models)

While Łukasz from Taurus is waiting for box covers for his brand new Clergets I am privileged to receive one copy of Clerget 9B with a provisional box to try my hand on it - thank you my Friend!
The box is arranged in the way which those who saw his earlier Bentley will find familiar - the multitude of superb resin bits nicely put in the slots in soft foam holding blocks. What is new is the fine transparent resin stand and a clever jig for an easy tying of valve springs - needless to say a generous section of copper wire is provided too - two pieces of two different diameters to be honest - one for the said springs, another for electric wires.
So, let me take the Czech razor saw, let the fun begin and let us see if I will be able to do justice to amazing skills Łukasz enchanted in all those 280 or so elements.
I am still thinking if I should try to remove the kit engine from my Wilson's Camel and replace it with this jewel or to just attach it to the stand and have it as a completely separate model - which it surely is on its own.

Łukasz is an absolute magician. What a beauty. This should complement my WNW Clerget Camel quite nicely, if I ever get around to building it..
Looking forward to what is certain to be a stunning build.

Work on the cylinders heads completed, Mounting tham to the crankcase began. Magnifying glass is mandatory.
The current part count stands on 90. And awe to Łukasz skills grows exponentially with the increasing number of attached parts.

You have made excellent use of the small jig included for ending the copper wire. The engine is coming together beautifully

Beautiful work, my two cents, mount it separately, too beautiful to hide most of it under a cowling.

I totally agree, it's a stand alone piece of modelling art.

Thanks, guys.
My one cent :-) - if I attach it to Camel it will be with cowling and propeller off, fully exposed. The debate is still open.

My two cents - it deserves to be on one of wonderful models. Your idea for a cowling off version of the Camel sounds great to me. And I'm sure you are going to do this engine kit all of the justice it deserves too!
Cheers,
Alistair

That engine may be too pretty to cover up... Might require a diorama of some sort...
Great work!

Yes, especially for the price you pay for it!

You are doing an amazing job on an amazing model! Can I ask what glue you are using and how you are applying it? Also how are you handling the tiny pieces?

Thank you, all.
The engine will surely not be covered. Nevermind money, but the quality of Łukasz product could not be treated like that.
I suppose I will try to take off the prop, engine and cowling from my Wilson's Camel. If it works, then this engine will replace it. If I see that would be too dangerous for Camel, then I will use the Taurus stand and have a model of Clerget itself.
For glueing I use CA glue, mostly in gel consistency. For some parts I prefer to dry fit them and if they are not easily removed to apply the glue and put them back - I do not remove them and then I use liquid CA glue to let it penetrate the slots. Both types I use are of "Kropelka" name - available in Poland but of Uruguay manufacture:

For holding, I use either tweezers or my own fingers. The most tiny bits are transported by toothpick with wet tip - the adhesion action of water is enough to hold the bits.
