Stripdown Sopwith Camel

While waiting for some glue to dry on my BE2c I pulled this little one out of the stash.

It's certainly quite fiddly but didn't take long to get a little tail plane together.

The upper wings were a bit more tricky. You have to build the centre section and wings separately and thread them all together.

But I got there in the end! Lots of little bracing pieces which are very hard to keep straight. The whole thing is very very flimsy and delicate at the moment but under a lick of paint I quite like how it looks.

Outstanding job on this 1/72 kit. Would be hard enough in a larger scale, but you make this look easy.

Wow! Thank you so much for the enthusiasm for this build everyone! I don't know if this was a foolish decision or not, but I decided to go the whole hog and have begun adding the internal bracing wires to the wing. I could only get a bit done before my eyes stopped working!

I am always impressed by the courage to tackle one of these PE kits. It’s incredible how fiddly they are.
You are making good progress here!
Kind regards
