The huge scale allows the use of different materials and you create a great model, which looks so real in many aspects!

Next up is the fuselage, and really, I had to check my 1/48 model from years ago, how did I do that..??

I resized the etched part of the HRH Aviatik DI 1/32 to 1/18 ( 178%), to produce the necessary hardware.

Can you give some more information on resizing a PE fret? Looks like a very Fine idea that I would Love to try out elsewhere ...

Andreas, the photo of the PE fret maybe deceptive..!
What you're looking at is the actual fret (1/32) and just a paper copy of the PE fret in 1/18...!!
Now, I do  not have the means to photoetch (yet), I will have to fabricate the hardware myself out of brass and alu sheet.

The wood I use is a little bit off scale ( slightly larger ), thinner/finer wood could make the structure too fragile...there is still some bending to do later on..

Thanks for enlightening me, I had taken the pic for upsized DIY PE parts. Sometimes I read of some folks doing that... I liked the idea but never got into trying it out.
