Extremely realistic weathering, it's coming out an eyecatching model.

Gary, Giuseppe & Jeroen,
Thanks for looking in and taking the time to comment. No update as yet as I'm still wrestling with that bloody "acorn"! ::) Thought I had it fairly quickly and then realised it would only align pointing backwards! :-\ Back to the drawing board, remove and re-rig 180 degrees out in the vertical and it should work out. I'm half way there!
Cheers,
Lance

Thanks Syd, she is beaten up pretty badly as the photos prove. By way of a mini update I was able to master the acorn on the forward cabanes, easier then anticipated once I got my head around which wires were upper, which lower! I want to get the rigging painted, then I'll post a few photos.
Cheers,
Lance

James,
Thanks for your very kind remarks.  I suspect the extreme "weathered effects", although no more extreme then the original,  I've put on this one would be a bit too much for the average Judge! I hope to have her completed in the next several days and will try to drag her along to one of our Club Meetings.
Cheers,
Lance

Another small update, the wing rigging is complete.
I used the Magic Third Hand to ease the rigging job, there's no angle or access that you can't set up on this thing!

The cross braces on the Bay Struts proved problematic. Even though using Modelkasten thread to reduce the strain several of the loops on the struts broke and had to be replaced with eyelets from Bob's Buckles. Drilling between the wings is not a recommended leisure activity! As an observation on the Kit I had very poor luck with the molded on eyelets for rigging on this one. Having several more to build I've determined to remove them and drill in the metal eyelets to save the angst of doing it later after the model is assembled and far more difficult to drill. Great Kit by Wingnut Wings but I personally do not like those little flimsy loops.

I got the "acorn" device rigged between the cabane struts on the second try. It should prove much easier on the next Camel Build.........

The rest of the rigging then went very quickly. For this stage I used my preferred Maxima Chameleon 0.12mm mono fishing line and 0.5 mm brass tubing from Bob's Buckles.

The rigging was painted with Mr. Metal Colour #213 "Stainless" per usual. Now it's time to get at the tail and control surfaces.
Cheers,
Lance

Very nice work with the rigging Lance, the little acorn can be problematic but you have achieved an excellent result, looking forward to seeing your next update.

Manni, Des, and Frank,
Your comments are very much appreciated! I hope to complete the tail section today and get a good bite out of the ailerons and their rigging as well.
Cheers,
Lance
