A Long Promissed Project: HK Meteor Mk.4 1/32nd scale
« on: June 06, 2017, 05:53:58 AM »
Well I promised this as a dual build a couple of years ago. It has taken me a while to get the PE and other stuff I felt I needed to do the build. So here is the HK Meteor under way. Interior updated with Eduard PE. The fuselage glued together, filled and sanded. I will be using Pheons Excellent decals for 56 Squadron of course!

I have finished the interior other than painting the control column. I have assembled the fuselage halves and filled, sanded, and filled again. Now I think I have a smooth finish on the seams. Next up deciding if the $40.00 Engine Nacelle correction I purchased is within my skill level to add  :-\

Nice one Rick!

It keeps you sane to have the odd distraction. I was always tempted by this kit so will look forward to seeing what you do with it...

Thanks for the encouragement Guy! I am now deciding if I have the courage/ skill to use the Fischer resin engine Nacelles that I paid $40.00 to acquire  :-\ If I screw up the cuts It will pretty much be the end. On the other hand Most Humans don't see the incorrect shape in the Nacelles to begin with  8)

Taking a break with a change of subjects is a smart move, Rick. The F4B4 "Yellow Wing" I recently did proved enjoyable and a nice change, "keeps the juices flowing"!
The Meteor looks great, I've heard a lot about this Kit and it should prove a real show stopper under your talented efforts. Looking forward to following your progress in getting this 56 Sqn beauty "High into the Empty Blue"!
Cheers,
Lance

I am sure of two things:
1. you will not screw it up in the first place;
2. in the extremely unlikely event that you do nobody will notice as you have written.

Conclusion: go ahead and enjoy yourself and then show us the result so that we can enjoy it too.

Rick,
That's some serious (and very scary looking) cutting there. Nice to see you back at the Building Station and particularly enjoying yourself. A change indeed appears as good as a rest, keep at it!
Cheers,
Lance

Piece of cake, Rick!  You could have been a surgeon, or a member of a bomb squad defusing bombs.  ;D
The front office looks very good.

Should you need pictures, there are two and a bit Meteors in the Coventry Air Museum very close to me. I'd enjoy the excuse to visit
