Ordered Two WNW Camels
« on: January 09, 2017, 02:28:58 AM »
Last night I placed an advance order for two WNW Camels.

Hannant's have them on pre-order at £79.99 each less pre-order discount so they end up at £72 each and hopefully free delivery.

From Weta Workshop, at todays exchange rate, each kit would have cost £64-29, standard delivery £12-86 and then NL VAT £16-20 Total £93-35.
So hopefully I've saved £20 per kit.

Just looking forward to them arriving now.

Muchas gracias, vielen danke, merci bien, etc, Hannover.

I had decided to give the new Wingnuts a miss because of the escalated costs (for somebody in UK with weak pound, shipping, VAT, 2016 price rises etc.)(My opinion, I know others are prepared to pay virtually anything WNW charge.)
However, your post has caused me to reconsider and I've just put 2F1 and a Br1 on order this evening. Thanks again for the heads up.

Hopefully this might be a good harbinger for the future if Wingnuts release anything else.

Yep me too Sandy  :D

I notice the price of the Eindecker has dropped 20 quid too - as you say this may bode well in coming months ;)

Thank you for this. it must mean Hannants are getting a wholesaler discount, as otherwise they'd be selling them for the same price as buying them from WETA, excluding delivery.

Hopefully, this will see some competition and some lower prices going forward, which would be most agreeable.

Hobby Link Japan are also advertising the new Camel kits, they are $10 dearer but I believe their shipping rates are very good.

Agree with your observation, so many other options now available to the modelers around the world for acquiring WNW.  Cheers.

Hello,
Des, if it is not ok to post the following link, please do not hesitate to delete it.

I have just ordered a Camel/LVG Kit from WNW in Uschi van der Rosten's web shop.

May be it is only interesting for the german/european modeler, but if you order now, you will get Uschis wood decals  for the kits you have ordered.
Klick here for more informations.

it does seem kind of weird now that the WNW site is fully back in order. however, i wonder if they're handling a lot of the manufacturing and design. their main business is movie special effects models and props.
