Halberstadt CL.II (BFW) 1/48 Mirage Hobby
« on: December 06, 2016, 11:52:31 PM »

Hello all.
I'm starting to build another model.
The model is not the best quality, someone wants to return to the "archetype" modeling, this is a good opportunity ;D

For a start in box:

I'd like to do in the paint scheme of 2 Reconnaissance Polish Aviation Squadron.

It looks like you can build a pretty good version out of it, Jacek. The Instructions Booklet looks superb, a lesson from Wingnut Wings? Lots of detail, colour, and great looking photos. I'll follow your Build with interest, looks like another winner!
Cheers,
Lance

Looking forward to you working your magic on this one as I have the German version in the stash.  Will follow closely to learn.  Instruction booklet looks great, but it is rather small compared to WnW (probably due to box size).

Excellent choice, Jacek!  I built the German version (Brunhilde) a while back and really enjoyed it.  I've had my eye on this Polish version for some time, but just haven't been able to bring myself to pull the trigger yet.  Maybe your build will push me over the edge.  At least with this scheme, you won't have all those fiddly lozenge rib tapes to contend with.
Cheers,
Bud

Whether you are returning to the ark with this kit or not I am certain that the finished model will be one which I will be drooling over in due course as you will have worked your magic all over it!

I started to work on the engine. (A better solution would be to buy resin Mercedes D.III)

Mercedes D.III from set after performing many components by yourself looks so:

Thank you all for interest in my workshop.
Next will be painting.
Jacek

Amazing results on the engine Jacek. I find the ignition wires a challenge on 1:32 Scale Mercs, you have installed them beautifully in the smaller scale. Nice touch with the valve springs as well, this is really taking shape in spectacular fashion!

Lance

Simply awesome work on the engine details Jacek! Your additions have certainly made it a model in and of itself!

Magnificent work.  Great detail packed in such a small space.  Looking forward to next chapter.

Wow!  Your engine looks fantastic, Jacek!  I was lazy and used a Pavla engine on mine.

How cool to see you building thus kit! I have it in my stash (German Version) and until now I only had read positive reviews. Sad that you don't agree but now I can see quite clearly why you don't agree.
You made really a great engine out of the kit's parts and I am very curious to see how you do the rest. I'll follow this beautiful build closely!
Best wishes
