In Honor of my Dad
« on: November 06, 2016, 08:17:04 AM »
Four years ago I lost my Father , he was my best friend . I could talk to him about anything that was bothering me and he would listen without criticizing and always got his honest opinion .
He was a big fan of WW 2 aircraft . I can remember going through his books and this is what got me fascinated with aircraft . So a project came to mind on building 3 of his favorite . The Spitfire , F4U-1 and the P-51D Mustang . So ,  Tamiya's 32 scale line of aircraft was used for the project . After getting the kits need for the build I started with the Spitfire followed  by the F 4U-1 and finishing off with the Mustang . This was a long project for me .

What a great tribute to your father Terri and what beautiful models they are, the F4U is one of my all time favorite WWII aircraft.

What a magnificent quartet of what are, in my opinion, the three finest aircraft of WWII!  One can clearly see the love that went into these beauties.  Your Dad would be proud and honored by this heartfelt tribute.  Truly splendid, sis!
Cheers,
Bud

Hi Terri
More inspiring builds to look at and great to acknowledge your Dad. I've lost both Mum and Dad in the last year so know how it feels.  :'(

Best regards
Alistair

That's a lovely reason to make four great models Terri, a fine honour to your fathers memory indeed.

The results are a fine testament to your building - all superb renditions but like Des I favour the F4U  ;)

Best Regards - Tug
