Polish Fokker D.VII 502/18

Question time, I guess... I have the Techmod decals in 1/72 for a Polish post-WWI Fokker DVII, with serial number 502/18. A picture is here:

I'm thinking about building this one in the far away future, but my curiosity wins now ;-)
From what I can see on the rather small and not-too-clear photo....

-bomb rack underneath fuselage
-unpainted wheel cover? (aluminium), the other obviously missing
-black spot near cockpit depicted as green paint by Techmod, but looks more like big oil stain?
-appears late Albatros built
-radiator filler not in the centre
-"<" design appears to be on the upper fuselage, too
Questions, opinions and speculations:
-4 or 5 colour lozenge, rib tape colour?
-any recognizable type of bomb rack?
-BMW or Mercedes engine?

The aircraft no doesnt have the *F* suffix so would be a Merc but... as we know things get replaced, especially after the conflict was over.

Thank you for your opions, very valuable, as I'm neither an expert at photo-interpretation, nor the D.VII I assume the white rectangle is the rigging table? With the "oil stain", I'm referring to the dark area directly above it. It could just as well have been a poorly painted area, as per Techmod's instructions.

Good catch on the flare rack or repair, I hadn't spotted that yet.
I'll be doing this in 1/72 in the future, though it would make a great looking machine in 1/32, as well. However, my 1/32 DVII Alb is already destined to become Von Greim's machine.

Lucky for me, both MAC and Roden have a late Albatros-built in 1/72. Got to finish some other stuff first, though...
