Thank you, my friends!
Got all flying surfaces painted in preparation for the Aviattic decals.

I`m very curious the effect you`ll get after using the Aviattic`s CDL.
Here's the first test shot just to give you an idea, Filip.  The horizontal stabilizer has been decaled, the elevators have not.

There's a lot of cdl on this boat and I only had one sheet.  I just ordered a second one, so there may be a moment's delay.  Probably not, though.  I'll just do the bottom wings and the tail feathers first so I can at least assemble those bits while waiting on the second sheet.
Cheers,
Bud

Thanks, Rick and Des!  It's slow going, but progress is being made.
Still applying CDL decals and I'm following Richard's advice to take my time and allow each decal to fully set and cure before moving to the next.  I've had no problems with this approach.
This was just after application.

I let the undersides sit over night, trimmed them with a new blade and sanding stick, then applied the national markings.

This is how the underside of the top wing looks.

And here's the top side.  Still needs to be trimmed.

Next step is to attempt to build that insanely delicate tail assembly that Des did such a remarkable job on.  Hope I can come close to what he did.
Cheers,
Bud

Hey Bud, this one will be spectacular I'm sure.  The CDL decals work really nicely.  I think it works better than paint.

Thanks, Gabe!  Yeah, I really like these Aviattic CDL decals.  In my opinion, the finish is much better than paint and the tonal variations seem to be limited only by the variety of base paint colors available.  The only drawback as far as I'm concerned is the elasticity of the carrier film.  Even when dry, it's a bit rubbery and challenging to trim, but the results are well worth the extra effort.
Cheers,
Bud

Thanks, Amigo!  While the ribs and spars were still masked, I used pastels for the roundel colors, masking them with rings cut using a disc cutter.  Only the third time I've done that and I'm pleased with the results.
Cheers,
Bud
