Extraordinary streaking, Amigo! The colors you've chosen are perfect, imho, and your technique is flawless.  McCudden's report of the engagement in which Voss was killed stated that he flew a "silver" plane, which this would look like at a distance.  Well done!
Cheers,
Bud

Thanks Amigo! McCuddens Silvery Blue description and GvW opinion swayed me to use the blue base. OD over blue does lend itself to a Silvery /greyish look, at least In My Opinion  8)

Great streaking Rick, the insignia and other decals are really going to bring this to life..

I can't see a crack?  I guess you are like me - in that if you know something is there, you want to fix it?  But in photos and when viewed on your shelf will you see it??

I still have a few more Dr1s in my stash and I have yet to try streaking, but this looks really good!

Thanks for the comments Ian. The crack is there and as tempting as it is to just let it go I won't! Not too difficult to fix once the oils dry and I give a gloss coat to allow me to mask the areas I don't want to re do!

Now that is how I've always imagined the F1 streaking looked.

Cheers,
Tony.

Thanks For looking in and the very positive comment Tony! Greatly Appreciated! I have used the attached photo and a couple of others from GvWs' Fokker DR1 Jadgestaffeln book. I pulled this photo off of the net so if there is any copyright issue I will of course be happy to remove the photo.

I really admire your streaking Rick. Somehow this is a technique that you have down to a very fine finish indeed. When the wings are complete and markings are on this will be a tremendous model.

Time was if you were considered a great 'streaker' you wouldn't have been making models that's for sure  ;D

But times have changed and the whole thing now has a totally different meaning and you deserve the title Rick - truly, as others have said, a stunning result indeed  :)

The model gives the same impression as the example on the picture -great work! Those white cross fields will show off nicely :)

A mini update: I have applied the markings. The upper wing cross fields were painted as the ones supplied were too narrow and designed to fit the late style aileron ! The fuselage crosses/white fields were the kit decals, as are the F1 103/17 markings.

Wow, Rick, have you ever "aced" that striping effect, very very nice! Following your Build makes me want to dig mine out and get right at it, but I guess I should finish up my W.12 first, only take me a few days I'm sure! ::)
Keep at her, she's a real beauty!
Cheers,
Lance

Great result to date - this is going to be a stunning triple all round  :)
