I bought a couple from Scale spokes, and as the biggest they had was the
ones for the Spad, I had to take out the centres of the 800 x 150, kit
wheels, add an inner ring of 0.5 sheet, sand for millions of years, and then
spray the colours. The worst part was, as the rims are fragile to a great
extent, getting them in and secure was a real 'S.O.B.' Then it was just a
case of thinning down the kit axle by 25% to get the bugger to fit. Took hours,
but got there in the end, and the result makes the piece. Cheers Lance.

Like you say, Dave the results are what counts and your patience
and perseverance have really paid off with those gorgeous  wheels.
What an amazing model you've come up with!

Cheers,
Ernie

Last wheel on and a base in progress. Still to do some bombs,
add serials and the rest of the rigging at the rear.

Ever onwards, ever upwards

May the Force be with you  8)

Hello Dave:

Words escape me.  The more I see of your work as you near completion the more in awe I am of your ability and patience to employ that ability.  Truly an outstanding piece of modeling craftsmanship at its finest.  The wheels are certainly a nice touch, but they just enhance everything else you have accomplished so far.

Best

Hi Guys,

Did a couple of chocks and finished the last of the bombs.
Jus waiting on my serial number decals, and then I can
progress to getting them on and finishing the rigging.

HAVE A GOOD ONE ;D

Some of the squadrons painted their chocks in flight colours,
so I used a bit of artistic license . . . .  8)

Dave, I seem to have no time at all lately for mine, but thought I'd stop in to check up on your progress. What a stunning build. just lovely. A nice detail on the chocks, esp. if they might have been in short supply at the time. It has been fun, and inspirational watching this come together!

A small ammendment; I got the prop size on the plate changer
scale wrong. It hit the elevator wires, so I checked it again  :o
What a dummy :P . . . So it looks better now.

Have a great weekend lads
