A WWI armor group build question
« on: July 16, 2016, 03:09:02 AM »
For the next two to three years, I'll be focusing on WWI modeling including air, ships and armor. I'm very interested in expanding my limited diorama experiences into better WWI dioramas for armor especially. With the number of good WWI armor kits now on the market I'm curious if there is any interest in a group build. I think these activities are a great way to showcase modelers' work, ask questions, share techniques and participate in a small sub-community within the WWI modelers. I like this forum especially since it encourages actual discussion, investigation, helpful criticism and honesty without degenerating into the usual flame wars I so often see elsewhere.

Any thoughts?

Hi,
I am interested in WWI diorama building and armour modelling as well. And I love the idea of group builds. The problem is, I have plenty to do for the moment, there are two Albatros B II waiting to be build (one if them is for a friend whom I promised to start soon) and there's the Diorama group built where I have certain plans too. After this I definitely could imagine to do an armour diorama (btw: not a tank, but a diorama too - still to be finished as well...: http://forum.ww1aircraftmodels.com/index.php?topic=7451.0). If you don't mind waiting for my participation, I'd be in.

The WW1 Diorama Group build has started, check here for details;  http://forum.ww1aircraftmodels.com/index.php?board=97.0
Your diorama can have aircraft, artillery, armour, vehicles, figures, ships or a combination of any of the subjects as long as it is WW1 related, just let me know if you want your name added to the list of starters, there will be some good prizes offered.

I found the diorama group build a few minutes ago and sent a join request. That will work perfectly. I've been AWOL for a few months but life is getting back on some kind of track again, I'm building models and as i noted elsewhere, focusing on WWI for the next two or three years. Not exclusively since I have a few cool ship kits and a large scale F1 car and my favorite Le Mans Porsche, but mainly I'm back to WWI.
