High In The Empty Blue for Trade: Deal Made
« on: June 04, 2016, 10:25:42 PM »
I ended up with a second copy of High In The Empty Blue. The book is in Good condition. One  small tear in one corner and slightly crumpled in the bottom binding area of the of the Cover.( See detail Photos) I would like to trade vs outright sale. My main interest is in finding an Avis 1/32nd Fokker EV. I would consider other trades if they fall in my want list. The Actual book is in Excellent shape.

I have a Possible del pending. I will keep this updated.

I agree, a book I'd love to have however I don't have an Avis EV and the online prices would require re-mortgaging my home! Sighhhhhhh...... :'(

Lance

Just remember, If no one has an Avis EV I am open to offers, WNW fighters, Encore kits with extras like Part PE or Gaspatch guns. Make an offer via PM if you think you have something.

Perhaps my perspective is skewed... I have an Avis E.V, but have absolutely NO interest in a history of No. 56 Sq, nor for many other books for that matter. I guess "value" is in the  eye of the beholder. . .

Indeed Value is always what a willing seller and a willing buyer agree to reference worth.

Lance, Instead of a 2nd mortgage on your home, Amazon shows 5 (used) copies of the tome for $39-40!!!!!!!

Rob,
Thanks for that; I had been looking on the Canadian site, turns out even with the considerable exchange rate the prices are better on Amazon.com by a wide margin including the postage as I discovered this morning.
Cheers,

I generally don't get upset about things like this but IN this case I am feeling like the insinuation has been made that I asked too much for this copy of HITEB. I looked at the Amazon listings. 2 of the 4 mentioned Highlights and notes written in the book. 2 said US shipping only. One mentioned good condition but book opens to pages automatically, etc. Sealed tear was also mentioned. Also NO Photos shown of what book you actually get.  Moving up the price chain to the $54.00 group there is also mention of wear on the covers and book itself. Only when the "Collectible" $120.00 range is reached do you seem to get a really detailed this is like new with no glitches type of description.

I offered this Valuable reference in good faith for what I felt was a good trade. If no one is interested no problem but I resent the indication that I was asking too much or in fact basically ripping off perspective traders. I am glad Lance has found another venue because I truly believe he values his reference. Believe me this copy of HITEB is in better shape than the description of any of the $39.00 offers on AMazon the way I read things.

As I said, Value is established by a willing seller and buyer. Personally I would NEVER pay twice the original cost of a WNW kit or $40.00 to $ 50.00 for a Hobbycraft SPAD XIII, because I don't value them that much!

Sorry for the rant and Des feel free to censor me if needed.
