   The lower wing and fuselage have been joined and, after minimal filling with Tamiya White Putty and final filling with Surface Primer it looks about as good as it's going to get.



   The "Bob's Strippers" mentioned earlier have been added and a quick sealer coat of Future applied. Here's a couple of photos as requested by Stefan........





   Now it's time to start masking and finishing the fuselage paint job before tackling the final assembly.

What kind of decal softener do you use? I like how those decals went down on the trailing edges!

    I use this sparingly on the edges and over high relief details. I've heard it's not as strong as other brands commonly used but it always has worked well for me.

My sincere apologies Lance, but I have somehow completely missed this one. Having read through you log I can only write that you demonstrate fully all the skills of a master modeller. That join of the lower wing to fuselage is an achievement in itself which many of us lesser modellers could not have done. I will now be following this more closely.

Lance, thank you! I had used the Micro Set/Sol for many years (it lasted long...) and now have switched to Mr. Softer/Setter for some months. To me it seems quite to the contrary as if the Micro products were a little stronger than the Gunze products. Maybe I'll switch again. For when I used Aviattic's linen decals I had some problems to get them tight around the trailing edges, they did not look as good as your Tarnstoff decals.

    I was reluctant to use a setting solution on the Aviattic Lozenge however started having the same problem with the edges "lifting", The Microsol seems to have eliminated that problem.

This is looking really good Lance.

I am using the same microsol solution for the trailing edges , it is one of the make or break areas on lozenge covered wings.

Your model is going to look fantastic when completed.

    Thats what I bought them for, but have yet to try them for that. I have a Hobby Craft Nieuport 17 that may be the first.

    Many thanks for the comments. The trailing edges are indeed the one area that can pose a problem if not treated. Generally though I find the Aviattic decals go on and work very well.
