Pfalz E.IV// Adler//1:48
« on: May 01, 2016, 12:28:14 AM »
Hello,
Pfalz E.IV known as ”flying death announcement” issued by Adler seems to be rather the base for the aircraft replica. I decided not to compare with any available plans as I would have never started the project for sure. I just want to have this rarely featured and not so common aircraft have on the shelf. Have not had the opportunity to get E.I from Gavia, decided to try Adler’s  E.IV, which main difference was two row rotary engine mounted in latter one.
Started from the cockpit which will not be enhanced significantly

next step: wings masking

The results are rather optimistic

K

You are making a great start on another beauty! Your pre shading for the structure is excellent as is the start of the black tape/battens.

What an interesting subject, K, and what fine work you've done so far!  I have this and the E.V in my stash, so I will be following with keen interest.  The work you've done on the wings is of particular interest.
Cheers,
Bud

A really nice start indeed, K.  Your paint work thus far is striking.  I really like the wood of the pilot's seat.

Nice work on this kit, very well done. You are actually a courageous builder, I have both kits, Gavias E I and AMG Adlers E IV and I would definitely go for the E I. It's so much better... That makes your progress even more impressive that you manage such a -- well, how can I say it friendly? Maybe "kit with special challenges..."  ;)

Hello,

Regarding the engine offered by AMG, there is rather nothing to be proud of…those 2 metal parts rather seems to be manufactured in 20th century and should not be included in any of kit, currently available on the market. Those you see on the picture were enhanced already with saw blade, trying to bring back proper shape of cylinders. Nevertheless I have given up and purchased Small Stuff Lambda Lambda at decent price. I have checked the dimensions first so in general in should fit.

Thanks!
The engine is done and it seems that the cowling need to be slimmed down little bit to bind both parts.

here you have the picture with fuselage fittings attempt. This little space will be covered with PE strip

Beautiful job of the engine, Krzysiek!  The pictures are a bit
dark, but it looks good in place on the fuselage.  Nice work,
my friend.
