1/4 Scale SE5a
« on: April 20, 2016, 07:40:48 AM »

Finally, after years of being on the bench, I got her flying today  :D always nervous of a first flight after so much time and effort!

1/4 scale, 80" wingspan

Truly AWESOME, Guy!  Nice landing!  One would think you had a little flying experience.  ;)
Cheers,
Bud

Thanks Bud and Des,

That was quick!

Des, it's a Laser 180 four stroke engine (about 30cc)

Beautiful model and excellent flight video. It's clear to see that you are a master at RC flying. I have been active in that field too and I remember the tension before a first flight, but also the pleasure after concluding a succesfull flight.

Very nice!

Ivo

Thank you all  :)

Not without its hairy moments - the rigging tension relaxed at one point and the front struts came loose (they're actually held in by magnets).

There are always teething problems with every first flight...

Good fun though.

Just a quick update...

Came out of the sun - didn't stand a chance (that or the battery failed).

Bit of a bugger but its a hazard of the hobby I guess - did I mention it took years to build?

Back to the drawing board...
