And some photos with the crashed S.e.5a Wolsely Viper...

First off congratulations on winning the award, it is certainly well deserved.

You have done a superb job scratch building this tender and trailer, the detail is excellent and the painting is extremely good, the SE.5a is a great finishing touch to the whole display, well done.

Looks great. Any chance you might have some in progress shots ? I would like to make some vehicles in 1/32 to go with the aircraft, but it seems like the kits are either old plastic from decades ago or resin only. Thank you for any information

Thanks for the warm welcome!
This project started out as little more than an experiment. Learning new skills, pushing my self out of my comfort zone.
I actually did not expect to be able to build it! Hence, no progress photos...
After a lot of trial and error on the spoke wheels, I was almost at the point of giving up.
When I finally 'cracked the code', finding the right material for the spokes, setting up a 'pipeline' for building the many wheels and tires (the tender has 8 wheels and tires - trailer 4 of a different kind) the rest of the build went smoothly.
This is a photo of some of the 'parts' of the build.

But I am considering, building another one, documenting the steps of the build.

Regards: Kent

Saw this on Fb already. Congratulations for winning, this is well deserved.

And yes, I would love to see a documentation on how you built your Tender.

Really fantastic model, and interesting choice of subject.

A pity that you did not take more photos documenting it's construction, maybe next time?

Are you going to display it on a base à la Roger Hurkmans, Per Olav Lund et al?

Can I also enquire how did you make the frame and tarpaulin over the top of the Crossley?

Well done on your win Kent, it is a show-stopper of a build.

Thanks! Yes this is only the first step in a 'bigger' picture, involving two more S.e.5a's...

I've made a little sketch, for those of you, who's asking about the construction of the canvas...

Many congratulations on a well deserved win. We see some first class models on this forum - this is among the vey best of them. Please do put up a log of a future build - you have so much to demonstrate to the rest of us.

Simply magnificent work, Kent. Results like this on a Scratch Built Model are indicative of some pretty significant skills, you've really shown that and more. Looking forward to the expanded Diorama when it's completed.
Cheers,
Lance
