Another from Washington state
« on: March 22, 2016, 12:21:35 PM »
Hi,
I'm from the Seattle area in Washington state.

I have been building ships and cars for the past 20-30 years, and am just now trying to return to my WWI aircraft interest.  The day has come now when all thse cool vacuforms in my stash are no longer relevant.  When I checked out, the only way you could get a Siemans Schuckert or a Pfalz D-3 (except for Renwal) was in vacuform.  I work only in 1/72 scale, and now I find that 1/48 and 1/32 are all over the place.  If nothing else, the Wingnut Wings online instructions provide terrific guidance for scratchbuilding interior bits in the smaller scale.

I'm looking forward to being a part of the community here.
Rick

Hello Rick,

You'll soon be lured in to the dark side of 1/32!

Welcome aboard, Rick!  Until very recently, I built 1/48 scale exclusively and, like you, used the WNW site as a reference.  Then I built one.  Now I'm hooked.  Watch out.  These guys will inspire you.
Cheers,
Bud

Hi Rick! Welcome to the site and I hope you have fun and get lots of inspiration... Nothing wrong with 1/72, there's lots on the site, and when the sun is bright, my bottle-top glasses are polished and my hands shake a little less I enjoy it too!

Regards,

Marc
