WnW Hannover Cl II
« on: March 21, 2016, 09:50:18 PM »
Hi Guys,

it would be nice if you read these lines before you look at the building report. :D
This is now no fishing for cmpliments. Just a few words to life a modeler.
The Dio with the albatross was done and I am very happy with it. Naturally have been made by a beginner again some errors. But overall, the result is very satisfactory for me.
So i was full of elan to the next project to make this even better than the previous.
But rather than again to get a little input, it went straight to the workbench. So it goes with this object like on a roller coaster. Between delighted and deeply saddened, it comes to this time.
I always tell myself that this is to be better in his hobby a normal way. One must also have to go through deep valleys, to can climb mountain at the end. So I torture myself a little Through this project and asked me if I show you a building report here or only the finished object.  ;)

But maybe some of you have a few tips for the construction, better for the next model, or you made similar experiences.

OK, thank you that you have you took some time to read this. Now a few photos for my current project.

Kindly regards from Berlin

Jörg

Looking really nice. I really like the cockpit and that engine. Cool paint station also. Do the filters get everything or do you find some residue on the wall? Mine is in the basement but I have moved  out of my shop and onto the dining room table and am thinking of trying some kind of spray booth upstairs pending an okay from SWMBO.

Hi James,

Ha, you wish now I wonder what's SWMBO?
Ok, what does SWMBO?
On the wall no color can be seen, but I have also attached a second filter at the end of the pipe. for caution.

And, thank you for your Comment!

Regards
Jörg

Sorry Jorg. SWMBO I guess is a North American thing. It means She Who Must Be Obeyed otherwise known as the wife. I like that setup, think I might try to replicate it.
Thanks :)

Jörg, can you recommend HGW's detailing-set? I wonder, whether to get the big set or the set for the exterior-details only.
By the way: Your Hannover is looking great so far! Which version do you intend to do?

Hi,

Thanks James for the explanation, I've been thinking that it is about the ok of the wife. ;)
I can only say that Paintbox works very well.
@Richard, I used the first time a set of HGW. So far I'm happy with it. Only the seat belts were a bit fiddly. Unfortunately can only say whether it paid off, when I can look at the finished model at the end. I'll build the school flying machine. The other versions have  too much lozenge for me.
I try the first time with salt technique in painting.

Thanks for comments

Regards
Jörg

Ah, we build the same scheme, Jörg.
I will try also for the first time the salt technique on my Hannover - this will be an interesting experience.  ???
Kay Koglin's article in the Model Fan is written very good, clear and understandable.
If you have interest in the article, Jörg, then please send me a PM.
A word to Kay Koglin: I met him in the past two or three times in Oberschleißheim on the model exhibition, he is a very very talented model builder and also a very likeable, friendly and helpful guy.

You write, you are swinging between hell and heaven in building this model, what are the problems?
Can I help you?

Hi Bertl,

thank you very much!
But as you have already read, I have the issue already.
Maybe I moan also at a high level. I probably thought that the development curve steadily going up. but I must draw any progress to me, took me probably a bit confused. ;)
I hope when I follow the instructions of kay that paint me reasonably possible and that is comprehensive earnings satisfactory.(Oh, Google translator)
But I will like to come back to your offer, if it gets tough again.
Thanks for the offer!

You are doing a superb job with your build so far Jörg, the interior looks excellent and the engine has turned out looking extremely good.

Hi Guys,

the last days I was busy again.
Again something new attempts. But since it is now my second WnW kit, almost everything is new what I'm doing.
This time I tried me on the salt technology.
So only the basic color, then sprinkle mixed with soapy water and then salt it.
Let dry.
Basic color darkened as the next layer above.
Let dry.
Rinse the salt with a brush and water. To obtain the transitions smoother, then mix clearcoat and some color and then aussoften all.
At the end with oil paint and filter aging somewhat.
Unfortunately, this can be seen all not so good in the photos, and sometimes I get a fright, because it still looks a little better in the original.

So, have a nice Eastern

Jörg

Hello friends,
 I am back.
I had a small trip to one of my past passions. Minature painting. Below a few examples.
But I realized that the modelbuilding is more to me.
There was still the Hanover, which was waiting for a completion.
Here are the steps I took recently.
From turning the eyelets, over the "smoken" the wings to the beginning of the rigging.
I hope I got it soon, because the next project is already in the shelf.

kindly regards
Jörg

Brilliant work on the Hannover, Jörg, and the figures are magnificent!  I wish I could do that.  So, is the Roland next?
Cheers,
Bud
