Pfalz DIIIa Carl Degelow. Roden 1/72.

Two years ago I start to build this kit of Roden but investigating about the subject I found some inconvenients. One of these was the wrong printed decals of Degelow´s deer by Roden, wrong shape and colour IMHO.
Fortunately I had the luck to receive the generosity of a fellow forum member FokkerJ that send me the deer decals that I need for free. I am very grateful with Jay, without his help this project would be impossible.
Some testing with natural wood.
Dealing with some cockpit instruments.
The interior of the cockpit was something spartan, so I had to make some little pieces to enhance it.

More instruments and the seat and floor finished.
Of course the pilot it´s only to compare the sizes of the instruments.
The cockpit closed and the scratched interior finished.

Thank you all pals. I really appreciate your comments. And now, more pics of the building.
Working in the Mercedes engine and the wood of the propellers.
Adding some inspection lids and a lot of putty.
This Roden kit needs a lot of dry fit, the joining between the fuselage and the lower wing are not so good.
I have to add a string of white sheet of plasticard to enhance that metal strap.
More putty and the drilled vents at the fuselage sides.
Just painted Eduard´s PE Spandau.
I added the barrel inside the perforated jacket.

You have done a great job with the engine and the propeller, and you work on the fuselage and wings is excellent.

Many thanks Des.
The finished Spandaus.
"Paint it black" with Xtracolor enamel.
Masking of the tail and the upper and under wings iron crosses.
If you wonder why I masked the crosses and not just only glued a decal, the answer is that Pfalz flugzeugwerke painted the iron crosses with silbergrau and not white.

I think it's interesting that you suspended the Spandaus by threading a wire through the cooling jacket. A good idea! I've got several of these in the stash, and I see I'm going to have to resort to a lot of putty evidently.
Did this aircraft not have lozenge-covered wings?

I have this pic and I build it according to that.
This one is dated on march, 1918.
The scheme that you say it´s for another Pfalz DIIIa used by Degelow from may to june 1918 but I can´t find any photo.
