     Sad situation indeed. Like most of us here past the magic "50" candles on their Birthday Cake I started the wonderfully rewarding experience of aircraft modelling, and in fact WWI Aircraft Models with the Airfix line. What fond memories, hopefully they'll survive this latest down turn.

I just bought 5 new Airfix kits and these new tool ones are truly gorgeous! The Battle of Britain is another main area of interest for me so my stash now includes a Spitfire Mk1a, Hurricane Mk1, Bf109E, Bf110C, JU87B, Defiant Mk1, and He111P-2, all with Eduard PE, masks, and resin upgrades for exhausts and wheels where needed, and a couple (Spit, Hurricane, Bf110) with Vac canopies to enable them to be modelled open. The Ju87, Defiant, He111 and Bf109 come with optional open canopies. I will add the Blenheim Mk1F (I already have the masks, resin wheels, intakes and exhausts, and PE for this one!) and BE2c when they are released.

I never had a Hornby train set but all the other brands which Hornby now own used to be the centre of my universe at one time or other.

My first kit was an Airfix Boomerang in a plastic bag from Woolworths. I was 5 or 6 at the time.

Looks like a glimmer of hope for Hornby.

I doubt Tommy's War will change their mind, cost of production for their vehicles plus low sales have ended their vehicle production.
