Finally completed my Pegasus Bristol M1C in 1/72, a lot more work than I was expecting. believe it or not it's harder to rig a mono plane than a bi-plane simply because there is no second wing to pass the cable through and tension it before gluing. consequently the rigging is stretched sprue.

The kit propeller and hub were scrapped and replaced wit a spare from a Bristol Scout, the original was simply too big.

Back to WW2 stuff for the next build.

I know thw feeling of rigging a mono-plane. I did my M.1c with elastic thread, I think there is some for 1/72 from Ushi van der Rosten if want to do another one.

looks great, you made a great model.

That Bristol of yours is REALLY good - I also favour your choice of colour/marking scheme - very striking and a bit different as well.

I would never have guessed you used stretched sprue for rigging - looks great.

Monoplanes are tricky but you have mastered the tricks! That is beautifully finished for a limited run kit - first class piece of modelling there. Very striking colour scheme too - I really like it.

Nice job, that rigging really doesn't look like stretched sprue. She's turned out really stunning!
A great job on a not-so-great kit.

Thank you all for your interest and kind comments.
As requested here are a few progress shots of a not very good kit.
In some cases the Pegasus instructions are just plain wrong such as the framing in the wing opening which I was advised on early enough to reverse it. The photo below clearly shows it is empty.

The kit has no interior other than a seat so a basic one was put together from styrene strip.

In order to make the stripes easier the one piece wing component was split.

The kit tail is undernourished so a replacement was made.

As previously mentioned the spinner is over sized but fortunately I sourced a replacement from a MAC Scout D.
There are good kits of this air frame in larger scales but very little in 1/72, bit of a gap that could do with filling.
Thanks again for your interest.. now what next.. WW2 or that Frog Vimy?

Excellent work and I agree about rigging a monoplane as I found out when I rigged my 1/72 Revell Eindecker.  In the end I used just one piece of EZ Line. I only cemented the line to the top support during rigging and then locked in place on the wings once finished.
