Man, do I remember this one, Dave!  What a stunner!  She certainly leaves an impression.
Cheers,
Bud

I just did a practice photo shoot and figured I would post the results here: This is my OLD Roden 1/48th SE5a Viper. Long after I built this one it came to light that although Burdens bird was Viper powered it had the rounded Hisso nose... Oh Well.

Very nice Rick, first "viewing " for me. I read your Build article from Internet Modeller, the rigging tale had me rolling on the floor! ;D ;D Your patience and commitment is truly remarkable!
Cheers,
Lance

Thanks Lance. I guess I was one of the few reviewers who tried to add a little humor to my mishaps and (  freely admitted) my mistakes  :D I am glad you took the time to read the build article! I was much more patient when dealing with a kit SUPPLIED by someone else for review!

Rick, I remember this little beauty from way back when I first joined the "list" and I especially took heed to your rib corrections.  Thankfully, Roden corrected the problem on later releases.  She's absolutely gorgeous and it's a pleasure to be able to feast my eyes again.
Cheers,
Bud

Thanks Amigo! Your comments on this Old Bird are appreciated. Looking at the photos I see I need to go back and apply a little Heat to some sagging wires ..Now where is my incense  ::)

Thanks Amigo! The review build says it was posted in the May 2005 Internet Modeler, so about 10 years old. I probably finished it in April 2005.

Not seen these ones of yours before, Rick -

Up to your usual high standard as always and looks great.   How does this Roden kit go together?

Regards

Dave

As we say in fencing, what's the point?

Thanks Dave, as always I appreciate the comments! As for the fit I said in the review article that the fit was great so I guess I would have to say it was very good for a Roden kit. As far as I recall the kit presented no real build issues not mentioned in the article. Compared to the 1/32nd I think it was a breeze  ;D

Very nice, Rick, I was following your build with great interest and the result is pure joy to look at, congratulations!

Here is a little brother to the S.E.5a company, my 1/144 scratch of Mick Mannock's machine.

Cheers

Rick and Ondra -  Both models are beautiful.  The rigging on Rick's plane is tremendous. Ondra - amazing scratch building, especially at 1/144 scale.
