Rigging the Albatros DV
« on: January 19, 2016, 02:49:32 AM »
I'm doing the Eduard version of the DV and I'm trying to find out if there's an extra wire going from the base of the main V strut that goes to the top of the wing. Some pictures have it  but some don't.

typical D.V rigging courtesy of WNW (click to enlarge). Note the optional green wires. Beyond this, check your references, there were some variations.

Like it shows in the WNW diagram the only optional one I know of is the one that goes to the lower front nose back to the rear of the upper "v" strut. Other than that pretty standard

Thanks. On the Eduard diagram there are two wires that are directly behind the main strut and one is attached to the aileron. Is that correct along with the other one I've mentioned?

Toby,
The ones you say that one of them is  attached to the aileron applies to the DVa version; it's aileron rigging was different from the DV which had the control cables internal to the wing. Take a look at the Plans Booklet Rigging diagrams for the DV and DVa on the Wingnut Wings Site as Bo has indicated and the difference will be easily apparent.
     Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Lance

On the tail the control wires underneath go to the fuselage. However I'm a bit unsure of where the ones on top go.

The upper elevator control wires also enter the fuselage, between the fin and the tailplane.
