Diorama Bases, funky old roads
« on: January 18, 2016, 06:33:38 PM »
WIP, will photo tomorrow, under lovely, Australian, early morning light.

Just done the whole WW1 stash during a visit from Dave from Dubai.  Got postal delivery of hot, hot, hot new modelling stuff from Montana USA while Dave was here, what fun.

Will post photos tomorrow when I take the ferret camera for a run.

Regards
Otto from Blotto

p.s. If you love WW1 armoured cars, tanks, trucks, figures and or goats, I reckon you'll love my next five photos

Hello Mr Wolf

Will you respect me in the morning?

 :)

Rachel

I have some secrets for you Wolfie, about how to paint natural rubber WW1 tyres.  Promise you won't kiss and tell all the other modellers?

OK here's the surprise.

These are super detailed diorama bases from Downtown Deco in Montana USA.  They have some urban street scenes with cobbled roads in various states of disrepair.  The bases also come with little bags of rubble including quite a few individual bricks for those who like to build broken walls and stuff.

These bases are hardened (with I don't know what), they're very robust and just perfect for all my WW1 tanks, Russian armoured cars and little goat friends.

Once I've removed all the feral goats, I'll paint the bases and give them a simple wooden picture frame.

Very nice bases Steven, once painted they will be excellent diorama items, do you have the web address for the place where you purchased them.

Hmmmm, just give me a couple of minutes and I'll get that address.

Ah got it:  http://www.downtowndeco.com/site/

You can get the cobbled street scene bases individually or four in a pack called: Dioramas Plus "Value Base" series 4.  There's some lovely modelling on this site.
