In comparison with Japo I can see now that my lighter hex should rather go just behind the pilot’s seat. I am half hex ahead of that line..well seems to be some kind of mistake with criteria taken, but I am not going to finish PhD in hex camo:)

That's because the Karaya kit has the cockpit 3-4 mm too far back, compared to all available drawings.

Yes, that must be the reason.
There are slight spaces between hex colours due to improper mask implementation, but those are easy to fix

Still do not have slightest idea how to finish the top of the fuselage...but for sure I must keep symmetry at least

Really looking great! I am sure you will work out the upper fuselage although it seems to me you already have?

Hi,

I just started harder part of painting- upper wings as here comes 4 colours for lighter scheme of camouflage. I have used K.u.K Luftfahrtruppe Tarnstoff 1917-1918 by Dr. Glen K. Merrill as the main source for the pattern. Unfortunately I have not prepared first base colour in right tone so had significant problems with achieving the acceptable level of work done.

Excellent results to date! I admire your masking skills and the patience you have to actually do this!

Hi,

Thanks but the picture above depicts fixing of unwanted colour spaces between hexs. For the first approach I use pattern consisting of 6x6 hexs, later once needed I use 1 hex pattern for corrections.
Uhhh…work is almost done

Very nicely done. Which masks did you use for the lozenge/hexagons?

Splendid job Krzysiek! IT looks extremely good and I think it wasn't the easiest one to paint. Seems like one of the most aesthetically pleasing camouflages ever. those K.u.k. guys had a sense for such things; take Brumowski's camo as an example - looks like pyjamas; ))) that's  one of the reasons why the k.u.k.aircrafts are so interesting for the modelling purposes.

incredible work! Awesome!
I never cared about k. u. k. airplanes. But seeing your progress I definitely have to rethink that...
