Lovely model James,

I was wondering when you were going to finish her.

The fabric effect on the wings looks really convincing, and not unlike the sort of effect one sees on the early eindeckers.

I like the darker framed windshield too.

Best wishes,

Dave :)

You have done a superb job with this build James resulting in a gorgeous looking model, all aspects of this model are excellent, the rigging is exceptional and the CDL finishes on the flying surfaces are nothing short of brilliant.

Thank you for the kind words guys, I plan to get the rigging over and done with over the weekend - then add a few minor decals and details and get some proper outdoor portfolio shots done of her.

So today I continued working on the rigging of the Albatros B.II

Hi James

Great photos and model. May I make a suggestion that you change the angle or move the model so that the lower wings cover the dividing line between the base ground and the background photo. Just a suggestion and not knit picking.

Cheers
Andrew

You may Andrew!

Actually those photos are me just farting about with the camera and natural light - the final ones I will take a lot of care to get the angles right but I also need to make a bigger board for the B.II as the wing span is way too big for both the board and the back drop photo.

But I will certainly try to get it right for the final portfolio shots :D

James,

I see you are using the same rig that I have - are you happy with it?

Hey Stefan,

Its the Vertigo Miniatures Jigs for biplane in scale 1/32 and 1/24

http://www.vertigo-miniatures.com/vertigo/eshop/15-1-VERTIGO-jigs/0/5/799-Jigs-for-biplane-in-scale-1-32-and-1-24

I'm happy with it but one of the pieces had a crack in it and after contacting them they promised to send me a replacement that never came.

So With a final kick in the arse with the reward of riding my motorcycle in the Japanese alps as a carrot I got the rigging completely finished!

I also added some additional details to the ailerons cables that run across the wings.

So the next step from here is to add the altimeter and some other small detail and then slight weathering.
