Sopwith Camel Clerget profiles
« on: July 27, 2012, 02:08:42 AM »
Ive managed to snap up one of the Hobbycraft Camels with the Clerget engine and after I've finished the Albatros I've just started this will move up to the top of the pile.

So the question is what profiles could people recommend that is a bit different. I have the playing card for my 1/48 kit so I did have the idea of checkers and mucho masking.

GCN,
The Osprey Sopwith Camel Aces of WWI book has some pretty spectacular schemes. The down side is I don't believe there's much available in After Market Decals in 1/32 however some of the choices could be done fairly easy with some masking and care, or better still, with home made decals.
Hopefully WNW or Roden will eventually come out with a Camel which would motivate the after market folks to come up with some choices. I've still got a few good Sheets from my 1/48 days which could be increased in scale on a photocopier, food for thought?
Cheers,
Lance

How about the Ruston Lincoln 1000th Camel? (not sure if it is Clerget though  :o )

Or, maybe BMA?

or White Russian?

I guess this is RNAS:

I agree Cleopatra and her asp would make for excellent marking.

That's the spirit gents. I'm not too worried about availability of decals as I'll create masks. I like that Belgium one, that looks easy enough to do. Just need to get the colours for the roundals right.

Spada did a set of decals for Belgian Camels, incuding Olieslaegers.

I guessing though I've got more chance of finding rocket horse shit than those decals.
