I am calling this one done. I suddenly had some extra time when I busted my knee and made the most with the extra time..

This is my version of this aircraft, I went with silver wings and a silver body. The metal parts are a light gray.
Not sure if this is correct, but to me it looks better than a white body.

I replaced the central king-post with soldered Strutz tube as the pastic ones broke (my fault).
The interior is amazing, the wicker seat is the best I have ever seen. I used a standard lap belt instead of the Sutton harness so you can see the seat better.
Engine is ok, but I replaced the pushrods with Albion nickel silver tubes. You can hardly see the engine with that great big spinner, but I know they are there!

Not to much wheatering, some around the engine and engine hatches, but not so much on the underside.
There are suppost to be some decals for the wheels, but I can nit find them anywhere (maybe somebody has a spare set???) so maybe I will wheater the wheels and underside some other time.

Lovely looking M1C nicely weathered too.
One observation if I may; I've never seen the propellor dome set that far back before, on every example I've seen it sits in front of the cowl.

That is probably my fault. I modified the parts a little bit so that I could install the engine after mounting/spraying the cowling.
I had some trouble with installing the engine, I think yhe whole engine/spinner assemble is too far into the cowling.
Partly mt own doing, but I most say that the conection spinner to engine is the most weak conection in the whole kit.

The wings to fuselage is not much stronger, but the wing is very thick and I fixed them with a spar from one wing to the next through the cockpit in the front and some hefty pins in the back making a very strong connection that way.

A beautiful model nonetheless! I hope you didn't think I was being too critical. I have a 1/72 version part built on this forum and have just decided to scrap the kit prop altogether and use one spare from a Scout, the original dome was simply too big.

Nice all around. I used to have some sentiment to this forgotten scout. Pity it was so underestimated.
One remark, too, if I may. The fuselage is well weathered, oil stained, etc. But the wings, and especially whells are so pristine clean - an unnatural contrast IMHO.

that is correct. As I have said in the introduction, I have lost/misplaces the decals for the wheel. When I have found them (or whyen they are lost forever...) I will add a small amount of dust and mud to the wings, wheels and struts.

I have turned my brand new hobby corner ipside down and inside out but I have not found them. I am sure I have them somewhere and then I will finish with a moderest amount of wgeatering. I always thought that trainers were kept a little bit cleaner than front-line machines (please correct me if this a wrong train of thought) so I will not wheater it too much.

Looks great - I love this scheme.

For the missing decals for the wheels, do you mean the 'Palmer cord' ones?  I might have some spare as I got sent a replacement sheet from SH as I mucked up the top wing roundels. Send me a PM and I'll try and help.
