Wingnuts 1/32 Albatros B.II
« on: December 10, 2015, 09:06:05 AM »
I told myself I would wait to start on this until other things were finished, but I couldn't help myself! This is supposed to be about having fun anyway, right? I don't need to add rules and pressures. I have a few weeks off for the holidays, so here goes!

The start of clipping the Albatros B.II cockpit parts off the sprues! :D

But first, the obligatory box shot:

It's officially started! 8)

Well done George, great to see this kit being started, looking forward to seeing how it unfolds, I will be ordering my kit next year when stocks have been replenished.

George,
Sounds like a good way to spend some time off. Have you decided which one you're going to build yet?

My favorite seems to be everyone else's that I've talked with; the one on the box art and in the kit build on WnW site. Option C. I really like the darker wood with the red trim. Looks very rich.

I just realized I'm going into this more blindly than I usually like to. I have two books on order but they haven't arrived yet. Oh, well, there's alway Google images, and I have a lot of parts to clean up and prime first anyway.

I am looking forward to this one George! I like the BII and may purchase one someday. I am sure yours will be an inspiration!

I don't seem to ever go completely OOB. I just ordered Aviattic Light German Linen decals. I'll use Gaspatch and von B turnbuckles. I just received my copy of the WS Datafile so I'm researching further details now for maybe a bit of scratch embellishment. But other than that, I don't think there is much else to add to this kit.

Now that's what I call a holiday project, George! It sure beats mine of raking up the millions of leaves which drop on our plot of land/garden.

Good luck with the build. I'll be following with interest, like many others, and, as they say round here "bonnes vacances".

Best wishes
Nigel
