Lovely work and to my eye the underside looks fine colourwise.

I was informed the underside of DR.I's were finished in Focker turquoiuse not light blue anyway. Not to say it wasn't overpainted when the red  & new national makings were applied.  I know it's been discussed as many times as *what shade is PC10/12* so do what you feel is my advice.

Hi!
I remember airbrushing the underside of an Albatros DII with a transparent yellow varnish to imitate the varnish used in real life, and it did look good.
Just a thought...

Only thing missing are pushrods and rocker arms but they are on the back side so hard to see in this scale.  I think the original kit had them as a photoetched piece but since the real ones were round better to use fine wire.  Also you could add sparkplugs wit pieces of stretched sprue if you want to detail it.  here's a photo of actual Oberursel rotary.

Looks like you used a dark steel color for the engine cylinders and crankcase (middle part of the engine).  It would look better to do the crankcase in an aluminum color as this was a different metal than the cylinders, which were darker.  Not sure if the cylinders were painted black or if that was like gun metal treated to blue them. when you are done give it a sepia colored wash in the cylinders to fill in between the fins and look like burnt castor oil.

thank Toby and Ragg to follow me
thank Dave to your feedback

I don't want to do many work on this engine which is not very visible but I'll keep your feedback for future builds

so I make a big mistake
Ipaint all parts separatly and when its time to build the fuselage is more darker than the wings

I paint with the same 3 misc but not in the same order
it's too late it will stay like this :-[

It is just my opinion but I do not see the difference in shades of red between the fuselage and wings as a big deal. Just tell everyone you planned it that way as there was differing shades between red over wood, metal, and fabric, and red over fuselage and wing fabric. No one was there and can dispute you!  ;D

I agree with Rick!

Also, there would have been castor oil and exhaust staining darkening that area more than the wings anyway.
